SOP: Edit Portal Menu Items and Page Content in Event Admin
Objective
This SOP explains how to update the portal’s top menu items and the content within individual pages using Event Admin. It also covers how to edit hidden pages such as the login page and replace the login image when needed.
Key Steps
1. Access the Menu and Pages Editor 0:18
In Event Admin, navigate to Content > Menu and Pages.
Use this area to manage both:
Menu items at the top of the portal
Page content for individual pages lower on the screen
Confirm you are working in the correct section before making changes.
2. Rearrange Top Menu Items 0:34
Locate the Menu section at the top of the Menu and Pages screen.
Drag and drop menu items into the desired order.
Example: move Floor Plan ahead of Tasks if needed.
Save the new position.
Refresh the portal preview to verify the updated order appears correctly.
3. Relabel or Disable a Menu Item 0:51
Find the menu item you want to change.
Click the Edit icon next to the item.
To rename it, enter the new label and save.
To hide it from the portal, disable the menu item.
Example use case: disable Resources if no resources are available for the event.
4. Locate the Page Content Section 1:14
Return to Content > Menu and Pages.
Scroll down to the Pages section.
Review the list of standard pages that contain editable content.
Identify the page you want to update, such as Homepage or FAQs.
5. Edit Content on a Standard Page 1:44
Click Edit next to the page you want to update, such as FAQs.
Select Manage Content to open the WYSIWYG editor.
Click Edit Page Content.
Update the text and formatting using the available editor tools.
Click Update, then Update Page to save changes.
Verify the updated content appears on the page.
6. Update Hidden Pages Such as Login or Terms 2:16
Be aware that some pages are hidden from the standard page list, such as:
Login page
Terms and Conditions
Access these pages through the same content management area when available.
Make changes carefully, since these pages may affect user access or legal messaging.
7. Modify the Login Page Image and Text 2:28
Open the Login page settings.
Edit the text displayed on the login page as needed.
Replace the default login image if required.
Upload or select the new image to match event branding.
Save changes and confirm the login page displays correctly.
Cautionary Notes
Do not confuse menu editing with page content editing; they are managed in different parts of the same area.
Always save changes after rearranging, relabeling, or editing content.
Refresh the preview after menu changes to confirm the portal displays correctly.
Disabling a menu item hides it entirely, so confirm the item is not needed before turning it off.
Hidden pages like Login and Terms and Conditions may impact user experience or compliance, so edit them carefully.
Tips for Efficiency
Make all menu changes first, then review the preview before editing page content.
Use clear, concise labels for menu items to improve navigation.
Keep page edits focused and minimal to reduce the chance of formatting issues.
After updating a page, verify both desktop and mobile views if applicable.
Maintain a record of original labels, content, and images before replacing them so changes can be rolled back if needed.
