How to Log In as an Exhibitor User from the Exhibitor Portal
Objective
This SOP explains how to impersonate an exhibitor user from the admin side of the Exhibitor Portal. Use this process to troubleshoot issues, verify what an exhibitor sees, or complete actions on their behalf for testing purposes.
Key Steps
1. Navigate to the Users List 0:09
From the admin interface, go to Companies.
Select Users to view the full list of exhibitor users.
Locate the specific user you want to access.
2. Select the "Log In As" Action 0:09
In the user list, find the Log In As action next to the desired user.
Click Log In As for the correct account.
Example: selecting this action for Zane Johnson will open the portal as that user.
3. Confirm You Are Impersonating the User 0:25
After clicking Log In As, you will be taken into the exhibitor portal as that user.
Any actions performed will be recorded as if the selected user completed them.
Verify the portal view matches what the exhibitor would see.
4. Use the Session for Troubleshooting or Verification 0:35
Use the impersonated session to:
Complete tasks on behalf of the exhibitor.
Troubleshoot issues they are experiencing.
Confirm the exhibitor’s portal experience and available actions.
When finished, exit the impersonated session and return to your admin account.
Cautionary Notes
Important: Any activity performed while impersonating a user is treated as if the user performed it.
Only use this feature when you have permission to access the exhibitor account.
Be careful not to make unintended changes while logged in as the user.
Tips for Efficiency
Use this feature first when an exhibitor reports a portal issue; it is often the fastest way to reproduce the problem.
Confirm the correct user and company before clicking Log In As.
Keep notes of what you observe while impersonating the user so you can resolve the issue faster.
