SOP: Set Booths for Sale on the Interactive Floor Plan During Sign-Up
Objective
This SOP explains how to configure booths on the interactive floor plan so exhibitors can see available booths, add them to their cart, and complete purchase during the sign-up flow. It covers the basic setup for selling one or multiple booths and highlights key precautions while editing a live floor plan.
Key Steps
1. Open the interactive floor plan editor 0:39
In the dashboard, navigate to Floor Plan.
Click Edit to open the interactive floor plan editor.
Confirm you are working in the correct live floor plan before making changes.
2. Select the booth you want to sell 1:54
Click the booth on the floor plan, such as Booth 101.
Review the booth settings panel on the right side.
Locate the Sell Booth or Self Booth Purchase option.
3. Enable booth purchase and enter pricing details 2:05
Click Sell Booth to make the booth purchasable during sign-up.
Enter the booth price, such as $1,200.
Add a short description, such as 10x10 standard booth.
Set purchase access rules if needed:
Leave access as All if any exhibitor may buy it.
Restrict to specific levels, such as Platinum only or Platinum and Gold, if required.
Assign to individual companies only when needed for advanced use cases.
4. Configure optional booth purchase settings 3:08
Review any additional purchase-related settings.
If applicable, choose whether purchasing the booth should:
Override the exhibitor’s level.
Increase booth staff allocation, such as granting 2 complimentary booth staff.
Assign priority points if your organization uses them.
Leave advanced settings unchanged if you do not need them.
5. Save the booth as available for purchase 3:51
Confirm the booth is marked for sale.
Save your changes so the booth appears as purchasable in the sign-up flow.
Verify the booth now shows as available instead of just being a floor plan shape.
6. Understand how unsold booths appear 3:58
If you add a new booth and do not enable selling, it will remain a non-purchasable shape.
Users will be able to view the booth, but they will not be able to add it to their cart.
Use this behavior when you want a booth visible but not yet available for purchase.
7. Avoid conflicts while editing a live floor plan 4:23
If you edit the live floor plan while someone is viewing it, they may see a message that the floor plan is being edited.
This prevents conflicts between your edits and a user trying to purchase the same booth.
Make edits quickly, then click Save and Exit as soon as possible.
8. Verify the booth purchase status label 5:09
Check the booth label in the editor to confirm its status.
If the booth shows Sell Booth, it is not currently for sale.
If the booth shows Don’t Sell Booth, it is already set for purchase.
Use this label as a quick validation step before publishing changes.
9. Apply the same settings to multiple booths 5:36
Select multiple booths at once to update them in bulk.
Apply the same price, description, and purchase settings to all selected booths.
Use multi-select when several booths share the same pricing or availability.
10. Use bulk editing carefully 6:00
Use bulk editing for booth pricing and purchase settings when appropriate.
Do not bulk change booth numbers using the booth label field unless you intend to renumber all selected booths.
If booths are scattered, use multi-select methods such as:
Click-and-drag selection.
Holding Shift and selecting multiple booths, depending on your device.
11. Confirm booths are ready for exhibitor checkout 6:43
Test the sign-up flow to ensure exhibitors can see the booth as available.
Confirm they can add the booth to their cart and proceed to checkout.
Verify the booth purchase experience works as expected before sharing the floor plan publicly.
Cautionary Notes
Do not edit the live floor plan slowly; users may be blocked from purchasing while edits are in progress.
Save and exit immediately after making changes to reduce the chance of conflicts.
Avoid bulk-changing booth numbers unless you intentionally want to renumber multiple booths.
Do not assume all booths are for sale; newly added booths may remain view-only until explicitly enabled.
Advanced settings such as level overrides, staff allocation, and priority points should only be changed if you understand their impact.
Tips for Efficiency
Use bulk selection to set the same price and description across multiple booths.
Use click-and-drag or Shift-select to speed up multi-booth editing.
Keep booth descriptions short and consistent, such as booth size and type.
If most booths share the same rules, configure one booth first, then duplicate the settings across others.
Validate the booth status label before publishing to avoid accidental non-sale listings.
