What is Exhibitor & Vendor Liability Insurance?

Overview

Many event venues and organizers require exhibitors and vendors to carry liability insurance before participating in an event.

Exhibitor & Vendor Liability Insurance helps protect against certain claims involving bodily injury, property damage, or other covered incidents that may occur during an event.

Through ExpoGenie's partnership with ViCoverage (powered by Vertical Insure), exhibitors can either provide their own Certificate of Insurance (COI) or purchase qualifying coverage directly through the exhibitor portal.

Why Do Events Require Insurance?

Even well-organized events can experience unexpected incidents.

Examples include:

  • Injuries caused by booth displays or equipment

  • Damage to venue property

  • Accidents involving exhibitors, vendors, or attendees

  • Claims arising from services provided during an event

Insurance helps reduce financial risk for exhibitors, vendors, event organizers, and venues.

How Does It Work in ExpoGenie?

If an event requires liability insurance, exhibitors and vendors will be prompted to:

Option 1: Upload an Existing Certificate of Insurance (COI)

If you already have liability insurance, you may upload your Certificate of Insurance for review.

Option 2: Purchase Coverage Through ViCoverage

If you do not currently have coverage, you may be eligible to purchase insurance directly through the ExpoGenie platform.

The process is completed online and proof of insurance is automatically provided once coverage is confirmed.
